Soul Serenade was the second album that I owned and listened to by The DTB (first one being Songlines). At first I was kind of indifferent about it, Oriental Folk Song being the only tune that immediately caught my attention. However, after several listens thereafter, all of the songs grew on me, especially Afro Blue and Sierra Leone (which I wish was about five minutes longer than it is here on this disc... it is only 2:15). This album is all instrumental, sans Drown In My Own Tears, which features Greg Allman on vocals... if I had to chose, my least favorite song on the album.

Man, I don't know, seems like a dream world to me... good fishing, good music, good people, family, friends...
I'd have a hard time deciding which to do - fish or make music. Anyway, the album sounds like its going to be great and I can't wait to hear the tracks I already haven't heard live... and also the ones I have heard live as studio versions!
Looking forward to Valentine's Day in Lewisburg, PA --->me, my new fiance, and the DTB... should be cool.

Just Listened Once Through...
This is just a preliminary review:
... all songs are great the first time through and will all, at one time or another, become "my favorite," I'm sure. Here are two standouts the first time through:
-"Days Is Almost Gone" is more than likely one of the most beautiful tunes I've ever heard... man the emotions it elicits is really something else.
-"Miss Me" is really catchy... I dig the tempo changes when the chorus is approaching.
... I'll get back to the rest later, after I've had some more time with the album.
-Cheers!
