Music has always been a huge part of my life... not playing it so much as just absorbing everything that I possibly could about all music (to categorize, which I usually am reluctant to do - mostly jazz, blues, and rock n roll). When I first discovered The DTB, I immediately felt the way that I felt when I first discovered other notable greats, from Grant Green to Coltrane and Buddy Rich to Dexter Gordon and Johnny Winter to Buddy Guy... I think you get the point. With The DTB, you don't feel that they are a "newer" band... nothing fashionable or superficial (like many acts today). Here you will find some gentlemen who like to play music (and do it well) and pour their hearts and souls into it while doing so. For me, what sets The DTB apart is their inabiltiy to be easily classified... sure, there are elements in songs that sound more soulful, bluesy, jazzy, etc., but each song takes on its own form and identitiy, exclusive from the rest. In short, its simple: I like The DTB because I like good music (which is the only category that I can see them fit well into).
