On June 29, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band will perform at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire in London, England. This marks the group's first announced European show to date, but rest assured others will be added soon. On Monday night in Toronto, the 14th annual Maple Blues Awards were held, honoring the best in Canadian blues music. We're pleased to announce that Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band received the "BB King International Artist Of The Year" award! Thanks to the members of the nominating panel, the Toronto Blues Society, and to the fans across Canada who cast their votes.
Here's what Derek & Susan had to say about the award: "Thank you so much for this honor. We've had a wonderful year touring with this new band and it is so nice to be recognized by Maple Blues Awards. Any award with BB King's name on it has to be special! In a few short days, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band will perform their final two shows of 2010, at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater and Florida Theatre in Jacksonville. We're very excited to announce that for the first time, the group will be joined by a horns section for both shows.
The players are Kebbi Williams on saxophone, Saunders Sermons on trombone, and Maurice Brown on trumpet. The band will also be joined by backing vocalist Mark Rivers for the first time.
Both shows will also feature an opening set by Scrapomatic. However, due to a previous commitment, Paul Olsen will be absent. For these shows, Scrapomatic will be Mike Mattison on vocals, Dave Yoke on guitar, and Ted Pecchio on bass.

Congratulations to Derek Trucks on receiving three Blues Music Awards nominations for the second consecutive year. This year, The Derek Trucks Band is nominated for Band Of The Year, and for Rock Blues Album of the Year, for their 2010 live release, Roadsongs. Derek is also nominated on his own for Best Instrumentalist - Guitar, an honor that he won at last year's awards. The Derek Trucks Band is also going for their second consecutive Rock Blues Album of the Year award, as Already Free won in the same category in 2010.

On November 9, Eric Clapton's 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival will be released on DVD and Blu-ray. The release features over four hours of music, interviews and backstage footage from the festival, and includes music by Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood, ZZ Top, Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy, BB King and many other legendary artists and guitarists.

The next two stops for the Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band are on 9/30 at Stir Cove in Council Bluffs, IA, and 10/1 at Voodoo Lounge in Kansas City, MO. A limited number of tickets for the Council Bluffs & Kansas City shows are still available, so be sure to get yours today. On Sunday, October 3, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band will perform a special concert at Bourbon Street Ballroom in Baltimore, MD. Hosted by PRS Guitars, proceeds from the "One Night One Show One Cause" event will benefit the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center. Tickets go on-sale on Wednesday, September 15 - VIP tickets will include open bar and food access plus entry to the second floor of the club; general admission tickets are also available.
