It's a must-read for any baseball fan and any Derek fan, as Gammons is truly one of the best writers - sports or otherwise - in the business today.

He loves the history of baseball and the people who play. Great story! He was able to include so much about Derek and Susan and the Trucks family. Making baseball stories into family stories is a good thing!
