...thanks for that comment, anyday!
Evidence again that the blues and those who love and play the blues are part of an extended family. Ruthie's being part of the dTb experience reinforces all of those positive aspects that are part of what Derek and Susan and Ruthie have each done in pursuit of excellence at this year's Grammy awards.

Suspect you may be right, Holt...
about Ruthie winning the Grammy, but I agree with BB that with such an array of talent represented in this category, fine music lovers ultimately win out, no matter who takes home the prize.
Ruthie Foster and her band opened for dTb at the Flood City Music Festival in Johnstown PA last August and she blew the crowd away. We had no idea what an amazing treat we were in for! What a powerful voice and great personality! She has paid her dues recording and touring over the years and has made lots of fans because of her talent and charisma. Ruthie and her band are outspoken fans of the dTb and are genuinely likable and down to earth people.
The Grammy will give an undeniable boost to the career of the group that wins. We'd love to see the dTb take the award, but truly can't be disappointed if Ruthie or Susan win it.
grammy , it 's great
i think they deserved the prize grammy, why not. the work so hard,
i wish they will make so many beautiful songs for us,

Don't need no stinkin' awards....
but, as they say, it's so good "just to be nominated."
No, their nominations aren't the surprise, but pleaseant nonetheless...and well-deserved, as most of us know.
How totally, deliciously cool!

Ruthie is for Real
She had heavyweight contributions on her work as well, one of the finest studios also helped. http://ardentstudios.com/2009/12/09/the-truth-according-to-ruthie-foster-nominated-for-grammy/
Jim Dickinson, Legendary producer(and sessions player) for the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan, also played music on her nominated work.
Jim recently passed to Leukemia. Rock and Roll music would not entirely be where it is today without his history of work. His sons have drummed, sang, and played guitar for their own band The North Mississippi All Stars, and Luther continues playing guitar with The Black Crows.
Guitarist Robben Ford is also a musical mainstay and he plays on her album.
Jim will be at the Emmy awards, in spirit, when they announce Ruthie's work.

Hate to say it . . .
But I think that Ruthie Foster will bring it home.
No Surprise Here At All!!!
We all knew this on the very first spin of this fantastic work from this phenomenal band of musicians. Can't wait to here the next grammy winner from DTB and/or Susan. Congrats!!
Can't keep a good thing down...
Even if you could, Down Don't Bother Me No More!
Susan's nomination as well, this is the real deal!
Every entry is a winner, but the fact of Susan and Derek both being considered elevates each of their works! We knew this all along!
