Derek Trucks, DTB Honored at Blues Music Awards

Last night in Memphis, Derek and Susan attended the Blues Music Awards, an annual awards show organized by the Blues Foundation. We're thrilled to report that Derek Trucks took home the award for "Band of the Year" (for his work in The Derek Trucks Band). For the second straight year, Derek claimed the award for "Best Instrumentalist - Guitar." Other winners on the evening included Buddy Guy, John Hammond, Solomon Burke, Dr. John, Ruthie Foster, Irma Thomas and many more great artists. Congratulations to Derek Trucks, Todd Smallie, Yonrico Scott, Kofi Burbridge, Mike Mattison and Count M'Butu on being honored yet again for their work in The Derek Trucks Band, and thanks to the Blues Foundation for a great evening, and for all the work they do to preserve and celebrate blues music!
