The Derek Trucks Band appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on January 7, 2009, and performed an abbreviated-but-powerful version of "Down In The Flood," the first track off the new album Already Free (available everywhere January 13).

NBC posted the full episode online, so for those who missed it the first time around, or if you just want to hear "Down In The Flood" a few more times, here's The Derek Trucks Band gettin' "Down In The Flood" on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

Very distinct sounds between a Rick and SG, think its a great contrast for the song. Pretty siked about Derek pulling out the Rickenbacker.....(think it's a rick...?) I had just got home from playin' an open mic, cool jam to come home to! Thought it was a great job (as always). ohhhhhhhhhhh there goes the cup of coffee, gotta go!

went out last night, having arranged for my partner to record at 11pm...
got back at 1am only to find the recording had mucked up - hot damn, well i declare!...

only to chance discover the show just starting again on a 2 hour delay second screening - far out!

so at 2am friday south australian time - i got to watch and wow!
such a thrill to see the band again with recent memories of their wonderful adelaide gigs...

It might be a Rick... I iinitially thought it might be an old Danelectro (it's definitely old) but I'm lookin at it again now (gotta erase, DVR's full, DAMN!!) and I don't think so. The headstock looks vaguely familiar, but I can't place it... It's not a typical Rick or Dano headstock or body shape, so I don't think it's a Rick either, but it might be... Hey Derek, fill us in, inquiring minds wanna know... You takin it out on tour? Hey, come to Orlando so I can see what that guitar is, K? (Wouldn't mind seein the band either lol) Thanks
