are good, but being shed events you don't really get the crowd interaction and all the different camera angles that we did from the Beacon run last year...and the audio signal on playback was a little weak..but that could just be Moogis issues that they are working on..BUT it is very cool that they added these and makes me a tiny bit hopeful that they may stop by NC this Summer if they do a limited tour. They have played Raleigh 20 years in a row..I do believe. Peace, BB

I'm getting a new laptop which has a HDMI output so i'm gonna test the connection with my LCD screen. My main problem though is that Moogis may not work with my 1MB link. The sound shouldn't be a problem though as i have a Kef 5.1 system with a good subwoofer, so that should blast it out!!
Also, i won't get to see some of the live gigs anyway as i'll be in Portugal for some of the ABB run. I need some sunshine badly
Nice pic Ritchie, I am just running the sound through my pc speakers but they are nice and loud, they aren't the cheap little ones. You just have to go into your settings on your pc display and go down to the lowest. I am really happy with the quality. Last year I bought a 23 inch monitor cause we still had an old tv. It finally bit the bullet so we got the 40" lcd. You have to subscribe, you will regret it if you don't Only 30 days away!
I will check it out, and I also asked our IT guys today and got the rundown on what I would need...basically just would be using the HDTV as a monitor for the internet transmission at this time..Peace, BB

I'll have to wait to get Broadband installed before i make the decision. Did you guys hook your PC up to the TV? Just wondering what the quality would be like on a 46inch LCD TV?
Also, i hear the sound is really good but i assume it's just transmitted in Stereo?
I have watched over and over as well, and within the next couple of weeks 2 shows from last years 40th anniversary tour are going to be added! Can't wait for those!Ritchie have you decided if you will subscribe??
even though tthe excitement of watching live is great... I must say that I have watched the shows from last year many times...and that is where the value has really been imho. Peace, BB

See response from Moogis regarding Satellite Broadband and viewing Moogis. Looks like i could only watch the gig the next day after it's stored on their server
"Satellite has had the tendency to be spotty for users, which is to be expected based on how streaming works. You do always have the option to allow the material to cache for a while to help avoid the stop/start issue. However, I'm not sure that you would be able to do this with the live webcasts as the material is being streamed directly as it is filmed and not stored data."
I remember last year when one of the early shows "froze" due to whatever even on high speed internet, and it drove me insane cause DT was ripping it up.
It didn't effect the permanent playback just the live transmission. Let us know what you find out! Peace, BB

and hope to get an answer soon as i'd love to sign up for Moogis 2010, Unfortunately can't make it to the good ole USA this March
Basically 800ms Latency means a delay of 800ms when you send your packets (info to the Internet) it takes much longer for the Internet requests (or viewing Moogis) to hit the satellite, bounce down to the Moogis Server, and then come back to my house via the satellite again. I know that online gaming won't work properly with Satellite so not sure if Moogis would either
I'd hate to be engrossed in a DT guitar solo in Done Somebody Wrong, only to see my screen freeze, and then come back when the solo was over
Guys, i was at a couple of Beacon gigs last March but couldn't watch the rest when i got home as i don't have Broadband access (have a massive 56k link!). I'm now looking at the possibilty of Tooway Satellite broadband but am wondering if the Latency of 800ms + would cause any issues when streaming the Gigs? Or could i lave the gig running and then play back on my PC later to avoid the stop start that i think Sattelite broadband would cause?
Do any of you guys that viewed Moogis last year have Satellite Broadband? Living in the Irish Countryside has it's advantages but unfortunately Broadband access is not one of them

I sure hope you get it figured out and somehow can watch it. Like BB said someone may be able to help you at the moogis website.
"latency of 800ms"
Sorry I can't be of any assistance. Have you contacted tech help through the moogis website? Peace, BB
