Kofi Burbridge

Kofi Burbridge

A little help, please -- does anyone know the make and model of the flute used by Kofi Burbridge in Roadsongs?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not a member of Facebook, so I'll ask a friend to ask him on my behalf. But if anyone knows the answer, please post it here.

I read Derek Trucks' comment that playing with Kofi is one of the few opportunities he has had in his life to play with a genius. I don't think that he meant it as a compliment, either, but as simply a statement of fact. Kofi is much like Derek -- absolute technical virsuosity that allows an unmatched and unimpeded improvisational brilliance. The work he did on the flute in Marley's Rasta Man Chant was stunning, and being one who follows flutists such as Greg Pattillo and Nina Perlove, I'm not easily impressed. Pure, clean, brilliant.

Three cheers to Kofi. Hell, three cheers for the entire band -- they are absolutely peerless.

I don't John, but maybe Bobby Tis will read this. Otherwise, if you are on Facebook, you could send Kofi himself a message. He's actually pretty good about responding.
