There is nothing you can do to get his sound. The quote is "If there was only one guitar and one amp left in the world, Derek would sound the same on it. It's true, no matter what guitar or what amp he is using, he always sounds the same. Some people spend thousands of dollars trying to buy the same equipment Derek uses in order to get somewhat close to his sound. Don't do it. Bobby Tis (Derek's guitar tech) has even posted on here saying Derek's sound is 80% the man himself.
If you watch the promo video for the new album at Tedeschitrucks.com, you'll hear the co-producer of the new record Revelator address this. Basically, "Be Derek Trucks, find guitar, cord and amp, plug in: play....Sound like Derek Trucks." That is what he basically says. The being Derek Trucks part is hard, but the rest of the stuff is at Guitar Center or a garage sale.

Hi. I'm new here. Derek has such a unique style. I can't say how ho
w gets his sound, I wish I could. It sure blows me away, though.
