Derek's new SG?
Hey, maybe Bobby can answer this one. I've noticed Derek's SG that he has been using recently with the Derek and Susan project has the black pick guard back on it and even a little tremelo bar. Did you guys put these back on his existing SG, or did he purchase a new one?

How hard would it be to put a maestro tremolo on an epiphone sg?
I read today in a guitar magazine that Derek is playing a prototype Signature SG by Gibson.
Is it true? Are we finally getting the Derek Trucks Signature model with the stop bar and maestro plate? I read that it had Sheptone pickups in it too.
This will surely cost upwards of 3 grand I'm sure. I can't wait to see this thing.
Unfortunately, people like me that can't afford that will have to grab a used 61 reissue and take the pickguard off and order a broken vibrola to screw on hahah.
Either way, I hope it comes out and he is happy with it.
The early 60's SGs are much more fragile than the recent Historic series...Peace, BB

Because bringing out a vintage piece like that is a massive liability! Accidents happen and if that guitar is involved in one of them...

Damn, that's a nice guitar. I can see why you wouldn't want to take that out on the road. I would never let it outta my sight! haha Thanks Bobby!
Actually, the guitar he has been seen playing a lot lately.... the one you speak of.... is a 1961 Gibson les paul/SG.... the real deal. He has owned this guitar for a while....we tend not to bring it out of the studio, but sometimes, he'll spend too much time playing it and nothing else feels right. Then, we carfully take it on the road.
I'm hoping to NOT have that guitar on the road after this break in may...
