powerstation 27-april-2011 auckland new zealand
i have been listening to derek trucks-susan tedeschi since 2003. It came at a time
when my dad was dying..He had a great love of the Blues and my childhood was
filled with BB King, Muddy, Jonny Winter, Eric Clapton and so many others..then
a few years later my Mum fell ill and passed in 2007...again listening to the crossroads festival in 2004, 07 and 10 came to help ease the pain and sadness..
yet now living in auckland the set that graced our shores for that one blessed night
well...myself a simple 55 year old woman could do was to hold on to the front row
rail, close my eyes and allow these dear players to transport everyone in the room to
a whole other place...i don't drink or use intoxicants and with sounds like were coming through and the positive energy within the band....well it was a perfect set..
Thanks to the band for coming Way Down town to visit New Zealand..I really hope
you can before to long...also look forward to visiting the states in 2013 for next
crossroads.I realize that it's the eastern influence (India) i really resonate with as
well as the purity of your commitment to making quality and happy music..That's for
being there at a crossroads in my own life...and for bringing happiness where there
has been grief and loss. I wish you every success in your lives..
